Bridgewater Retail Park, Banbridge
Doran Consulting provided a range of civil, structural and traffic engineering design services in relation to this major 100 acre retail and light industrial development in Banbridge. In relation to the traffic design services provided, major earthworks were carried out to form development platforms for various sites. All roads and infrastructure were then constructed to industry standards and in accordance with all statutory requirements.
Access to the site is by means of a new junction on the A1 dual carriageway. This consisted of a major bridge over the A1, a dumb-bell roundabout arrangement and new slip roads off the A1 dual carriageway.
We prepared a Transport Assessment / Traffic Impact Assessment that involved extensive traffic surveys and considered the impact of the development on Banbridge town centre. The assessments were prepared in close liaison with the Roads Service and Banbridge District Council. We also liaised closely with Translink regarding the provision of public transport to the new site.
In addition to civil engineering services relating to the overall site development, we also provided structural engineering services for the Factory Outlet Centre, which was the first major development on the site. The centre comprises 200,000ft2 of retail space, complete with associated car-parking, service yards and a management suite.
