This Design & Build contract was for the upgrade of existing works at Greysteel to meet upcoming regulatory standards in compliance with the EC Directive Municipal Wastewater Treatment. The new plant was designed for a population of 2,000 and consisted of three Rotating Biological Contactors (RBCs), two primary and two final settlement tanks, sludge holding tanks, a new control building and associated site works.
The contract included for manufacture, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of process plant for the RBC plant and all ancillary and control plant. It was constructed by BSG Civil Engineering for NI Water.
