Commencement of Phase 2 of the Ulster Canal Project.

We were delighted to be in attendance with the Taoiseach for the Ulster Canal plaque unveiling, commemorating the commencement of Phase 2 of the Restoration Project.
Doran Consulting are acting as the lead consultant implementing the flagship cross-border project.
Phase 2 of the Ulster Canal project focuses on the restoration of the canal between Clones and Clonfad in County Monaghan with the Phase 2 work programme to include: a sustainable water source, a new 40-berth marina, 2 new access bridges, repairs to an existing masonry arch bridge, c.1km of restored canal and towpath with a looped walk and an amenity area. The amenity area will have 40 car parking spaces, 8 bus/trailer spaces, a service block and a picnic area and will be connected to the town and the existing playground.
Doran Consulting have been involved through the phased design, development and construction of the Ulster Canal Restoration Project which is set to stimulate economic activity and tourism throughout the entire border region.
