Brian Green

Brian Green was educated at Foyle College, Coleraine Academical Institution and Queen's University Belfast. His early training was with Dr Doran and following a period away from Doran Consulting with a local authority, he returned to the company as a senior engineer and became a partner in 1972.

Mr Green has been closely associated with the Northern Ireland Region of the Concrete Society having served as Regional Chairman from 1985 to 1987, National Vice President from 1987 to 1989 and National President of the Society for the 1994 to 1995 session. He has been a member of the local committee of the Institution of Civil Engineers and is a past Chairman of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers. From 1991 to 1993 he was Honorary Secretary of the Northern Ireland Group of the Association of Consulting Engineers and became Chairman of the Group in 1996. He is an occasional lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering, Queen's University Belfast, on the design of reinforced concrete and steel building structures.

Colin Maxwell

Colin Maxwell was educated at Sullivan Upper, Holywood and Queen's University Belfast. He joined Doran Consulting in 1977, was appointed to the post of Associate in 1986 and as a Partner in 1993.

Mr Maxwell has been an Honorary Secretary of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers. He has designed a wide range of building structures including factories, office blocks, schools and hospitals. He has a particular interest in the application of computers to structural analysis and has presented a paper on the structural design of Antrim Area Hospital.

Mr Maxwell also has considerable experience of project management and of working in multi-disciplinary teams and formerly led the company's CDM Co-ordination Services which provides requisite services to clients in accordance with the CDM Regulations.

Stephen Lockwood

Stephen Lockwood was educated at Bangor Grammar School and Queen's University Belfast.

His initial training was with consulting engineers and contractors in South Africa, specialising in the design and construction of heavy civil and structural engineering work related to cement factories and power stations. He joined Doran Consulting in 1986, was appointed to the post of Associate in 1989 and as a Partner in 1993.

Mr Lockwood served as Honorary Secretary of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Institution of Highways & Transportation and has presented papers on Bridge Assessment, Bearing Replacement and Bridge Foundations.

Within the company, he designed and supervised a number of major building projects including schools, office blocks and structural steel support structures for heavy pressure vessels in power stations, notably Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station in England. Bridge works in which Mr Lockwood has been involved have included the suspension footbridge at Bearney in Sion Mills, the Eastern Approach Bridges in Belfast, Swann’s Bridge in Limavady and numerous bridge assessment and repair contracts.

David Walker

David Walker joined Doran Consulting in 1983, was appointed a Partner in 1999 (title updated to Director following the company’s incorporation in 2005) and became Managing Director in 2011.  He has over 30 years’ experience in a range of civil engineering areas of expertise including infrastructure, harbour and coastal development and protection, industrial sites, residential development (public and private), water and waste water treatment, leisure and sports projects (including playing fields) and landfill containment.

Within the company, he was involved in several landmark industrial projects at Belfast Harbour including the construction of a wind turbine assembly facility, quay wall, deep water berths and a ferry terminal.  He also provided various services on an ongoing basis for over 30 years in relation to the three of Northern Ireland’s chief fishing ports at Ardglass, Kilkeel and Portavogie.

In addition to providing a range of civil engineering services to clients, David is an honorary treasurer and Past Chairman of the Concrete Society (NI Region).
