Doran Consulting are taking part in the Work + programme in association with The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).  Economy Minister Simon Hamilton recently launched the scheme which will see 50 new civil engineering apprenticeships being created in Northern Ireland.

The apprenticeships, currently offered by 24 employers in total, will enable apprentices to earn as they learn from the age of 16, gain invaluable industry experience, and provide a direct progression pathway to higher levels of professional and technical work.

Apprentices will attend college on a day release basis for two years, while working full-time for their employer. All six of Northern Ireland’s further education colleges are taking part.

Doran Consulting Director Ciara Lappin said: “I would encourage young people interested in a career in engineering to apply for this scheme.  Doran Consulting work across a wide variety of engineering projects and the apprenticeship scheme will provide a valuable opportunity to get practical experience while studying.”
