Doran Consulting were appointed as Lead Consultant for the Integrated Design Team responsible for the design, tender and construction supervision of three new sections of the cross-border Carlingford Lough Greenway.

These new sections of the Greenway will see the creation of 10.1 km of new cross-border paths, which will link into existing elements of trail, and will join Newry City in Northern Ireland to Carlingford in the Republic of Ireland.

A preferred route has been developed for Sections I and II running from Carlingford to Carlingford Marina, and Omeath Pier to the NI / RoI Border respectively.  These will build on the recently completed and already popular Omeath to Carlingford Marina Greenway providing a world class cross border green travel route running parallel to the R173 Road Newry Dundalk Link Road.

A preferred route for the Northern Ireland Section, Section III, is being developed and there will be a community consultation, to enable local stakeholders, elected members and members of the public to review and inform the emerging route.
