Rookery South Energy Facility Time lapse video August 2020

Doran Consulting is providing Civil and
Structural Engineering design services to Hitachi Zosen Inova, the EPC
contractor, for the Rookery South Energy Recovery Facility, near Stewartby,
Bedfordshire. The video below, provided courtesy of Covanta, shows the
progress of construction in recent months.
This was a busy period on site, with three large tower cranes working to complete the boilers and erect the steelwork to the boiler hall, which was pre-assembled into modules to reduce work at height. This time also saw the installation of other key equipment including the steam turbine generator and the waste cranes which will work 24/7 to feed the waste into the boilers. Cladding has commenced and external works to roads, drainage and earthworks are nearing completion.
