RUBB Warehouse Facility, Milewater Basin, Belfast Harbour

Doran Consulting was appointed by Belfast Harbour Commissioners to provide project management and civil engineering design services for a new warehouse facility for the storage of paper at Milewater Basin, Dufferin Road, Belfast Harbour Estate.

The warehouse superstructure was designed and erected by a tension membrane buildings specialist. The warehouse building footprint measured 72m x 36m with an internal height of ranging from 7m to 11.8m at the apex.

Our design input to the project included the following principle elements:

• Flexible surfacing and sub-base road construction
• Heavy duty pavement construction
• Foul and storm drainage and associated manholes
• Diversion of watermains
• Erection of palisade fencing
• Foundation construction for proposed warehouse facility
• Foundation construction for adjacent portacabin office facility.
