City Quays Commercial Development, Belfast

The City Quays scheme is a mixed-use commercial development, on behalf of the Belfast Harbour Commissioners, covering over 20 acres in the Clarendon Dock area of the Port of Belfast. This new development represents a £250million investment in the area which involves the construction of Grade A office space, a hotel, residential units, retail outlets including restaurants and multi-storey car parking.

Doran Consulting has been commissioned to provide structural engineering advice in relation to the two new office buildings which will be the centrepiece of this development, which are currently under development.

City Quays 1 is a 5-storey office building with column free, open-plan working space and car parking on a peninsula site between the Clarendon wet dock and the River Lagan. City Quays 2, which is currently under construction, will be a 9-storey office building with a ground floor coffee shop and car parking in Corporation Square. Both buildings are being constructed with sustainability as a priority as both will be completed to the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standard.
