Tamnamore Sewerage Scheme, Co. Tyrone

This NI Water project to upgrade and extend the existing wastewater treatment works at Tamnamore, County Tyrone enabled three small treatment works at Derrylee, Mullenakill and Clontyclay to be decommissioned and their flows transferred by newly constructed pumping stations to the new works, via an upgraded pumping station at Clonmore. This was the most cost effective solution to achieving the required effluent standard for the sewage generated in this rural area of Tyrone.

Tamnamore WwTW comprises a new inlet works, two new Primary Settlement Tanks, two Rotating Biological Contactors (RBCs), two new Final Settlement Tanks, storm storage, a new Control Building for process controls, and sanitary provision for visiting operators. The associated sewerage scheme included Clonmore PS, Clontclay PS, Derrylee PS, Mullenakill PS, with 5.1km of pumping mains laid using directional drilling, and associated chambers.
