Doran Consulting were designers for the BSG / WIS JV for the Design & Build construction of the wastewater treatment works for NI Water, in order to meet the Urban Waste Water Treatment Regulations (NI) 2007.
The plant was designed for population equivalent capacity of 11,600PE.

The design included allowance for salinity in the incoming sewage and very large differences between summer and winter loadings. The works included new inlet screens, storm tanks, primary settlement tanks, aeration tanks and final clarifiers, sludge holding tanks, sludge thickening and new control building. The plant has initially been constructed with a capacity of 7,600PE with the design allowing for expansion to 11,600PE with extra process units and pipework locations already in place.
