Doran Consulting were appointed lead designer, within the integrated
design team, appointed to deliver a new multi sport facilities for Ballymena
Academy.
The project involved the construction of two full-size synthetic sand dressed hockey pitches with associated sports fencing, spectator areas, spectator terracing and flood lighting. Five synthetic floodlit tennis courts and a purpose built conditioning suite were also included in the project.
The engineered design of the sports surfaces will provide the school with facilities which enable high performance play, long term durability and availability in all weather conditions, for use by school pupils and local sports clubs.
