Doran Consulting was appointed as lead consultant and to provide civil and structural engineering design advice for the redevelopment of the Mary Peter’s Track, which is a multi-use sports facility located in 30 acres of conifer woodland shelterbelt, off the Upper Malone Road in south Belfast.
These recent refurbishment works involved the upgrade of the existing Mary Peters track to an IAAF Class 2 competition facility with the construction of a new 8 lane Mondo surfaced track together with facilities for all field events. The works also included the construction of a new 400-seater grand stand, fencing and flood lighting.
The refurbishment has provided world-class facilities which hosted events as part of the World Police and Fire Games in 2013.
