Malone Golf Club, Belfast

Doran Consulting provided structural engineering services for the renovation and extension of the historic club-house at Malone Golf Club. The project involved the construction of a new lounge bar and extensions and refurbishment of the existing locker and changing rooms.

The lounge bar was designed utilising a steelwork portal frame to provide a column free space. The new extensions were designed with the style of the original clubhouse in mind. Externally the extensions were clad with cut stone and Bangor Blue slates whilst internally the accommodation is finished to a high quality.

Loose steelwork was provided beneath the portal rafters to provide support for decorative timber trusses and support for a large timber framed glass sliding door designed to provide views of both the 18th green and adjacent lake.
